Description
An orthodontist specializes in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities and thus can ensure that you have a successful treatment for a beautiful smile that can last a lifetime. Orthodontics can not only help straighten your teeth, giving you an appealing smile, but can greatly contribute to the health of your jaw, teeth and sometimes your overall health. Outstanding results are also dependent on maximizing the coordination of care between you and our practice.
We offer several methods of teeth straightening:
Metal Braces,
Clear Braces
Lingual braces
Self Ligating (Damon) Braces
Invisible braces (Invisalign)
Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most widely used system of straitening teeth. Small metal brackets are bonded to the tooth with a wire passing through them. Metal brackets are very strong and can withstand most types of treatment.
Clear Braces or Ceramic braces
Clear braces or ceramic braces are tooth coloured braces and are very similar to metal braces in their function. The visibility of these clear braces is much less than the metals braces and are nearly as strong as the metal counterparts and can be used to treat almost all of the cases.
Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are applied to the inside surfaces of the teeth and are almost completely invisible from outside. Nowadays these braces are in high demand especially ranging from college going students to professionals from fashion industry, sales executives etc. Lingual orthodontics is particularly well-suited for adults whose professions keep them in the public eyes.
Though Men and women aged 13 to 60-plus are eligible for lingual braces, a particular case selection criterion is being followed for lingual braces.
Self-Ligating (Damon) Braces
Self Ligating Braces are brackets that do not need the elastic bands to hold the wire to the brackets. Instead, each bracket has a sliding door locking mechanism to hold the wire. The brackets allow the wire to slide back and forth which means fewer adjustments and, therefore, fewer appointments
Invisalign
Invisalign is a great treatment option for people who do not have severe problems and are concerned with esthetics during the treatment. Instead of bonding brackets to the tooth, a series of strong plastic trays are fabricated.
Each tray is made to move your teeth slightly and is worn for a few weeks. They must be worn for at least 18 hours a day in order to achieve results.
Orthodontic treatment Planning may include the following:
A medical and dental history evaluation.
Study models/ casts of your teeth.
Photographs (face, mouth and teeth)
X-rays of the teeth and jaws.
The braces are then placed as per the treatment plan.
